What do you do when you're told twice by the time you're 45 that you're about to die?
No, Reena Jadhav didn't go on a bender and tell her boss she thought he was an idiot.
She decided to start walking.
Now, there were 99 things she did to beat colon cancer and an undiagnosed auto-immune crisis. but walking was the foundation.
So, on the 5th anniversary of her last face-off with death, she decided to create WalkClub, the first social app connecting walkers worldwide.
WalkClub is her initiative with the non-profit HealCircle.org. It's a volunteer-run organization with the single mission of ending chronic illness. Walking has the most published studies on its benefits to reverse disease and aging. In fact, Harvard published an entire e-book on it.
With WalkClub you can take others on your happy journey away from mind-numbing TV shows and heart-attack-in-a-tub takeaway meals.
WalkClub is the easiest way to host walking meetings or get walking with family, neighbors or friends. Who knows, maybe you'll find a date on your next group walk, or find an old flame walking in Paris! In our desire to be all things walking, we hope to share answers to questions like which is the right shoe, what's the right speed and posture, or how not to get bored while walking!
We invite personal trainers, companies, schools, and hospitals to launch their WalkClubs!
WalkClub app is designed to be ultra-simple, yet inspiring for those looking to have fun while walking more.
It's free, and downloading the app could be the best 60 seconds you spend today.
